KFC Twenty20 Big Bash

KFC Twenty20 Big Bash is the Domestic Twenty -20 cricket competition in Australia. It was established in 2005 by Cricket Australia . Its official sponser is KFC. Ths format of cricket is very popular in Australia

Six teams take part in the competition represnting 6 states. A total of 15 match is played with each team playing 5 matches. The top two teams compete at finals.

The 6 teams are

Western Warriors
Queensland Bulls
Southern Redbacks

Victoria was unbeaten champion for 3 years till Current Champion New South Wales defeated it in 2008-09.

Scotiabank National T20 Championship

Scotiabank National T20 Championship is the Domestic cricket competition of Canada. It was organised by Cricket Canada and its Official sponsers was Scotia Bank. Its first season was started in 2008 from May 17th to 19th. During this time 24 matches were played between 8 different teams.The match formats were Double Round robin and Knockout.
The 8 teams are

* Quebec
* Manitoba
* Saskatchewan

In the first season Ontario B won the Trophy by defeating Quebec in the Finals.

Twenty20 Cup and P20

Twenty 20 cup is the cricket competition for England and Welsc country clubs. It was the first ever twenty-20 match played in Cricket history. England and Wales Cricket Board started this form of cricket to boost the popularity of cricket among the younger generations.
In the first Stage the 18 conties are split into three divisions based on thier location in Great Britain.

Each division contains six counties and are divided up as follows:

The series is being held annually at the end of the season since 2003 . Middlesex is the current champion by defeating Kent Spitfires at Southampton on 26th July 2008.


P20 is a proposed Twebty-20 Championship by England and Welch counties. The first season of P20 ll begin on July 2010.

National Elite League Twenty20 :

National Elite League Twenty20 is the domestic Twenty 20 championship for Kenya. It is organised by Cricket Kenya and a part of the Sahara Elite League program. Sahara Elite (or Zonal League) is a cricket program consisting of a Twenty 20 cup, a one day tournament and a three day cricket tournament. Four teams took part in the inaugral tournament which was played in february 2008.

The four teams are :

        The Southern Chiefs

The first series was won by Eastern Aces.
 

State Twenty20:

State Twenty 20 is the domestic Twenty 20 tournament of New Zealand. Its official sponsor is State Insurance and the tournament is named after it. The competition has two pools.

Pool A Had :

Auckland
Northen Districts
Wellington

Pool B Had
Central Districts
Canterbury
Otago

The tournament was first held in 2006 and was won by Canterbury by defeating Auckland by 6 wickets. In 2007 the format was changed to a 6 team round-robin. A final match was held between top two teams, and Auckland was the winner of 2007 by defeating Otago in the finals.

There was another change in the tournament format in 2009. The state twenty20 is expanded to eight rounds instead of two. Due to high popularity and heavy demand of television viewers the entire series has been expanded to four weeks. From 2010, and Twenty20 Champions League will be expanded to 12 teams and one team from state twenty 20 will qualify to play in Champions League.

The Twenty-20 cup is the domestic Twenty 20 cricket competition in Pakistan. It was started in 2005 and is organized by Pakistan Cricket Board . A total of 13 teams play in round robin , knock-out format. Sialkot Stallions is the undefeated champions from last 3 years.

From 2005-07, official sponser of Twenty-20 cup was ABN AMRO. In 2008 the cup was renamed as RBS Twenty-20 cup as Royal Bank of Scotland took the Sponsership .From 2009 the Twenty-20 Cup will be replaced by Pakistan Super League

Pakistan Super Leauge is a Twenty-20 Cricket Competiton, Its first season will be held in 2009 and is organized by Pakistan Cricket Board. Its structure will be same as Indian Premier league and will be based on Franchise model.

Standard Bank Pro20 Series is the Domestic Twenty 20 Cricket Competition in South Africa. It started in the year 2003 and its official sponsor is Standard Bank. 6 teams participated in the tournament till 2009 except in the year 2007/08 when Zimbabwe also played as a 7th team.

Current Champions are Cape Cobras . In 2009, Standard Bank added new stadium activations to enhance the crowd viewing experience.

Inter-Provincial Twenty20

Inter-Provincial Twenty20 is the domestic Twenty 20 Cricket competition held in Sri Lanks. It was started in the year 2004 and is organized by Sri Lanka Cricket. It is a part of their Inter-Provincial Tournament program.  The tournament was known as  Twenty20 Challenge Trophy when it was started in 2004. In 2005 it was renamed as Twenty 20 tournament.

 This tournaments were conducted between different clubs in Sri Lanka till 2008. From 2008 Inter-Provincial twenty20 became the main stream domestic twenty20 competition in Sri Lanka.

Six Teams in Inter-Provincial Twenty 20 are :

Wayamba is the current champion. From 2010, the number of teams will be increased from 6 to 12.

American Premier League

American Premier League (APL) is a Twenty 20 cricket competition in USA whose inaugural series ia all set to take place in New York in October 2009.

APL will take place twise a year and will be played from October 6 to 26 .The next series will be held in Fort Lauderdle, Florida in April 2010.

Organizers are taking all the efforts to make the tournament a success story after the failure of Pro Cricket in 2004.

Standard Bank Pro20 Series :

Stanford 20/20 is the domestic Twenty 20 cricket competition in West Indies. It was first held in July and August 2006 at Stanfor Cricket ground. It is a single elimination knock out cricket competition. It was organized by Allen Stanford to bring back thr poularity of cricket in westIndies

19 teams took part in the first series and 20 teams after that. The uniqueness of the Stanford 20/20 series lies in the prize money that is awarded throughout the Tournament. It has the largest prize money of any domestic cricket Tournament in the world.

· Tournament Winners: US$1 Million to Team and US$200,000 for their Cricket Board for development;
· Tournament Runners-up: US$500,000 to Team and US$100,000 for their Cricket Board for development;
· Man of the Match in Final Match: US$100,000;
· Play of the Match in Final Match: US$25,000;
· Man of the Match for all qualifying matches: US$25,000;
· Play of the Match for all qualifying matches: US$10,000
